It has been faaaaaar too long since I updated this poor orphaned site but fear not dear reader as I have indeed been busy with globetrotting and travel scribing (is ‘scribing’ a word?).

I have now been writing somewhat regularly for the Yummy Mummy Club (despite being woefully unqualified as a “mom”) and you can head over to http://yummymummyclub.ca to see stories I have posted on The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida and a family visit to Amsterdam. Versions of these stories have also hit my regular column for Precedent Magazine over at www.lawandstyle.ca/thecrimetraveller.

A bit off the traditional “travel” path, I was invited to spend two days racing high-performance BMW M3 cars in the gorgeous fall foliage at the legendary Le Circuit Mont Tremblant track in Quebec where I met some fascinating fellow car nuts including Alan Nursall from Discovery Planet and Shelly Johnston, coach of the Austrial alpine ski team.

I’ve just returned from an amazing visit to Ecuador and the Galapagos islands with my nine-year old daughter.  Readers may recall that I was last in the Galapagos in March 2010 with my brother-in-law and still cannot believe my good fortune that I have had a second shot at a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Speaking of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, if you haven’t been following my posts from this summer’s family safari to Tanzania, you really need to head over there and catch up on parts 1-3 which are currenly online (and two more installments are expected).

Although I’ve got no plans over the current holiday break, I’ll be bringing you stories from my pilgrimage to the birthplace of golf in May as I head off with a great group of guys to try our hands on four of Scotland’s most famous courses. The ladies aren’t being left out as we will be joining them for an adults-only weekend in London on our way back.

Finally, although there are currently no final plans for the upcoming summer, I have a few irons in the fire that I’m hoping will lead to tremendous writing opportunities.

Cheers and safe travels everybody!
