We’ve all done it. Headed off to the kiddie birthday party, camera in tow, and returned with 50 pictures of cute kids smearing ice cream along the walls and tearing wrapping paper into ribbons.
Once in a while, as nice as these photos can be, it’s nice to look for a somewhat different perspective.
Here’s a shot I took during a lull in the action at my niece’s second b-day this weekend. I’m using my new Sigma wide angle lens opened all the way up with an f3.5 to create some artistic blur around everyone’s favourite Aussie quartet. While this pic may not make Bubbie’s wall as an 8 x 10 enlargement, you can bet that Mom and Dad are going to want it in the album as something quirky, fun and different to go along with their memories of the big day.
